e-cos is a project that explores the relationship between memory, landscape, and political violence through the intersection of sound and image. The work takes as its conceptual starting point the Museum of Memory in Bogotá, a building intended as a space for social reparation that now stands as a modern ruin, serving as a reminder of the institutional neglect surrounding Colombia's armed conflict. Positioned in front of the Eastern Hills, the building symbolically interrupts the natural landscape, becoming a symbol of obstruction.
The composition mirrors the museum's architecture, unfolding in six sections grouped into three paired blocks. The first moments of each block focus on dense harmonic clusters and diffused sound environments, while the second moments feature a voice reciting La Patria, a poem by María Mercedes Carranza, presented as an act of remembrance.
The visual component consists of three acrylic paintings on raw canvas. Guided by textual descriptions and executed while blindfolded, these paintings explore the precarious nature of narrative reconstruction. Within this process, the artist deliberately incorporates materials and tools associated with civil construction, such as masonry brushes, spatulas and wall paint.
e-cos functions as a reminder of silent conflicts found globally, raising questions about collective memory and the political negligence that manifests as a disconnection among individuals.
"I want to take a moment to thank all the people involved in this project: To Tâmisa for the amazing job she has done. I really appreciate all her ideas and I hope we can keep creating together. Secondly, to my professors Vincenzo and Bruno, for guiding this composition and helping me grow as a composer. Also, to Stefano Romano for all his guidance as the tutor of this project. Lastly, all the gratitude to my beloved friends, Felipe, Gabriel and Christiam for taking time out of their days to give us their perception of the chosen landscape" - Ana
