The project investigates darkness as both a physical state and a psychic experience, merging visual and sonic dimensions into a single perceptual field. Through the observation of natural and artificial environments, the research focuses on spaces where darkness generates a shared sensation of unease and distress.
Fear of the dark, understood as a universal experience, transforms these external spaces into interior landscapes, eliciting emotional states connected to the absence of control, the fear of the unknown, and the vulnerability of the body in space. The project unfolds as an exploration of this perceptual threshold, where image and sound converge to create a unified experience.
The tactile depth of charcoal, the expressiveness of the line, and the distinctive texture of the electroacoustic composition operate on the same level, generating a disquieting depth and a sensory narrative marked by tensions and suspensions. References to natural and artificial landscapes emerge both in the drawing and in the sound, yet resist stable representation, leaving the viewer with a persistent sense of unresolved disquiet.
