LISTEN-FOLD, conceived by Samuele Pigliapochi, unfolds as an architectural rug that invites the body to inhabit the act of listening. The project stems from a simple and universal gesture: folding a sheet of paper. A standard A4 sheet, a symbol of daily routine, is enlarged and transformed into a micro-architecture. The fold connecting the upper corners generates a soft, muffled cavity - achieved through an internally upholstered Corten steel structure - which becomes an intimate space dedicated to listening.
This object is neither a simple rug nor a mere piece of furniture: it is a medium, a conduit that establishes a direct relationship between the body and music. Its curved form does not exist solely to contain, but to tune the body to the listening experience, as if preparing it to enter into resonance. The object functions as a true bridge of transition. Outside lies the world of diffused noise; inside, a space that allows sound to become close, perceptible, and inhabitable. Music is no longer a background, but an encounter.
The body, gathered within the fold, becomes part of the device: its very presence closes the space, giving birth to the acoustic environment. Music, in turn, fills this cavity like a living and shifting architectural element. To cross the threshold of the object is to enter a different perceptive state where the fold becomes a small architecture of feeling - an environment that prepares the body, welcomes it, and places it in direct relation with the music.
Beyond guiding posture and creating a gathered acoustic space, the curved shape of the object allows the user to rock gently, transforming listening into an active and corporeal experience. The movement is not imposed but spontaneous, chosen by those who enter, tuning their body to the waves of the music and creating a personal rhythm that amplifies sonic perception. In this way, the object becomes not only a bridge between body and music but also a tool for sensory interaction, where listening manifests through movement, making sound tangible and materially alive.
