"Muffofono" is an interactive installation that explores the relationship between organic matter, sensory perception, and the environment, evoking humid and marginal ecosystems such as ponds and marshlands. The work consists of six wooden boxes fitted with sliding lids made of opaline glass.
On the surface of the boxes rest vacuum-sealed bags containing pseudo-mucilages: ambiguous substances produced by mixing water with organic materials, eliciting both attraction and repulsion. These elements symbolically reference natural processes of transformation and decay, inviting the visitor to engage with a living, unstable material in constant mutation.
Visitors are encouraged to interact with the bags, enhancing tactile and sensory involvement. This gesture recalls the scientific act of observation under a microscope: the viewer becomes an explorer, prompted to reflect on the relationship between humans and nature, control and transformation.
