Those Who Do Not is a site-specific sound art installation describing a dreamlike journey into a past we have not yet come to terms with. The title is a reference to an album by the industrial band Psychic TV. The sentence is truncated and represents opposition to common behavior. Other influences can be found in the ambient works of Les Joyaux De La Princesse, also based on archive material.
The meaning is that we must not forget the horrors of the dictatorship and that this is still active today in less blatant and more subtle forms, difficult to decipher with awareness. The reference to the present is achieved through the use of sounds produced and recorded inside the exhibition hall whose reverberation, artificially reconstructed, will encapsulate the audio as if it were imprisoned in a box from which it cannot be freed. A real physical artefact will also be exhibited to highlight the link between the past and the current moment: the relational and collective dimension of the exhibition.
